Interviews

Filmed interviews with people who have experienced, investigated or resisted digital repression.

These conversations explore how surveillance, censorship, harassment and digital threats are used to silence people in their home countries and in exile.

About the interviews

Each interview page brings together video extracts, context, transcripts and related themes. Some pages may also include the full interview where it is safe and appropriate to publish.

The interviews cover digital surveillance, censorship, platform control, online harassment, smear campaigns, hacking, threats, exile, family pressure and practical forms of resistance.

Security and consent

Some interviews may be published with full names. Others may use pseudonyms, anonymisation or limited identifying information.

We do not publish sensitive material without consent, and we consider the security of each person before an interview is made public.
